| Intern: Print / Web Designer
Insyntrix is seeking a sharp, up-and-coming Intern to have an active role on the front lines alongside our production team. This paid internship is a flexible and part-time position that might typically work best for someone in college working towards their degree and looking for real-world experience.
Personality
You are an eager-to-please diamond in the rough that understands the demands of a creative production environment. You like designing new web interfaces, bold brochures and fun campaigns that integrate the best in new media technology. You are both analytical and abstract in your thinking and can synthesize client requests into streamlined plans of action. You are stress-resistant and thrive on solving problems. Clients like you and wish they could think like you. You’ve seen The Matrix at least 14 times and visit art galleries while reading Wired magazine in your spare time.
Responsibilities
You will be working closely with sales, project management and production and will be assigned a variety of development tasks as well as helping out with anything else the team needs. Your day will always be different and you will need to adapt to the fast-paced working environment and get up to speed quickly while learning the best practices in web and graphic design.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have some production experience demonstrating a clean and professional portfolio with an emphasis on print and graphic design in addition to base website design knowledge. A strong marketing sense demonstrated through your work or past experience is a must. The person should have a solid understanding of the standard multimedia applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and InDesign. This person must also demonstrate the ability to work with many types of visual styles and skilled team members. Strong references and solid portfolio are required.
• Knowledge of SEO a big plus
• Clean and fresh Design and bold Ideas are a must
• Looking for strong print and graphic design skills and raw talent
• Should have strong design instincts and potential
• Agency or marketing firm experience a large plus
• A deep love of Star Wars gives you extra credit
Compensation
This position pays between $8-$12 an hour based on experience either as an w-2 employee or a 1099 contractor based on hours and preferences.
